I teach literature and writing well, but do both badly. I often go on reading binges on specific topics or authors: open theology, C. S. Lewis, G.\u00a0K. Chesterton.\u00a0My house is littered with hiking sticks, but I just bought aluminun hiking poles to save my knees and make it less likely that turkey vultures will pick my bones somewhere in the Siskiyous after a crippling fall. My four boys are grown, but home is still a trampoline.
